How Do I Make Pizza at Home Taste Authentic?

The ingredients are the same everywhere. But why does it taste different?

  1. Your crust should be crispy:
    While your pizza may have an amazing combination of toppings, the whole experience will be ruined if the crust is soft and mushy. A crisp and crunchy crust is one of the basics of the perfect pizza. A great way to get that crispy crust is by coating the pan with oil and tossing the pizza into a hot oven. The oil will fry the underside of the pizza crust and get it to a cracker-like consistency.

  1. Don’t skimp on the sauce:
    The sauce is the heart and soul of the pizza. A great sauce will provide a good base for a great flavor. If you don’t like or can’t afford store-bought pizza sauces, you may opt for a tomato-based sauce. If you find the flavor of these sauces overpowering, you may want to try a white base pizza. You simply brush the pizza crust with melted butter and garlic, or olive oil.

  1. Go easy on the cheese:
    Most people love pizzas because of their cheesy goodness. However, overdoing it with the cheese won’t make your pizza any tastier. You can still achieve that creamy goodness by opting for controlled amounts of a creamy cheese such as mozzarella, parmesan or pecorino.

  1. Rethink your toppings:
    The more, the merrier with toppings, right? Wrong. Try to limit your toppings to not more than four. Ensure that you use fresh and high-quality toppings, and spread them out evenly.
